BACKGROUND
Rand McNally asked AMD to develop an end cap display to highlight their line of Truck GPS and Fleet Management devices. The display was placed in over 180 Travel Center of America locations across the country.
EXECUTION
AMD designed and manufactured an endcap display that showed non-working GPS and E-log units. The 19” video screen was attached to a media player with 4 lighted buttons that allows the consumer to watch a short video describing one of the products shown on the display. All graphic and video content is easily updated. In addition there is space on the bottom of the unit to merchandise accessories and printed road atlases.
RESULTS
The displays were very well received in the Travel Centers of America. So well so, all the displays have been updated with the latest hardware samples and revised video content. Rand McNally expects the displays to perform well for many years to come.
